Camp iCare @ Eastside Elementary kicked off today with our morning assembly. Camp iCare co-founder Sid James, Executive Director of The Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit studies began the morning discussion with an overview of the camp and the definition of philanthropy, as well as introducing this year's theme which is "Go for the Gold" in honor of the upcoming summer Olympics.  She shared how each camper can be philanthropist by donating their time, talent, treasure, and trust in order to create a lasting impact and enduring legacy. Next the campers were treated to a skit performed by our Team 360 crew featuring today's topic which was My, Values, Issues, Interests, and Impact. After the skit, Sharon Wilbanks, co-founder of Camp iCare and Director of Auburn University's Early Learning Center, gave an overview of our day and went over some of the Camp iCare ground rules.

Once the opening ceremonies concluded, the campers were divided into three groups. In their groups, campers began their interactive discussion and activities which inspire participants to look deep within themselves to determine what they are passionate about.

Our Guest Speaker, State Representative, Gerald Dial spoke to the campers about the importance of determining one's values, issues, and interests to influence how they can make an impact.
